Letter from Coach Bowen:
We invite
you to join the exciting new club on the block! The
Serra Eagles Touchdown Club.
As many
of you know, our 2006 season was highlighted by
permanent lights and the first home game being broadcast
on Fox Sports Pittsburgh. Not only did the lights add
excitement to the season but the team added to the
excitement with another excellent year for the second
winning season in 12 years and a first round home
playoff game. There were tailgate parties going on
before and after games. I can't remember this much
excitement about football since we won the 1981 WPIAL
Class A Championship. It has been along time since that
amount of exhilaration has been felt for the Eagles
football team.
We are
restoring the proud tradition to Serra Football so that
our boys can proudly stand along side the other great
Serra Sporting teams. Wouldn't it be amazing if we can
again be the cream of the crop of Class A football?
We are
off to a good start but to reach our goals of winning a
WPIAL and PIAA Championship it is going to take a lot
more. Along with the lights we added a second level of
the press box and upgraded our field with a new
sprinkler system and extended the corners of the end
zone. That’s a start but to be the cream of the crop in
class A football we need your support to achieve these
goals. The end zone is still 99 yards away and we are at
the two minute warning. To bring the pride back to Serra
Eagle Football we need your help.
Now that
you know what is happening it is time to act by becoming
a charter member of the Serra Eagles Touchdown Club. I
guarantee that your efforts will result in the pride and
tradition of Eagle Football being restored. Your
generous support will allow us to provide the kids with
essential equipment, lunches during camp and dinner
before away games.
